Unsure?

Is something feeling ‘not quite right’ or ‘off’ for you?

Are you feeling unsure about how you feel?  Sounds confusing, but it is something many of us go through at different times in our lives.

Sometimes it can be difficult to put our finger on why we are feeling down, depressed, anxious, hopeless or helpless.  We can suddenly stop sleeping, and may struggle to understand why or how to cope.  Life can throw us curveballs leaving us feeling confused, frustrated, angry or hurt, and sometimes we just feel lost but not sure why.  Having someone sitting alongside you can help you to explore what is happening for you – someone to listen, support you and simply be there with you.  Together we can explore your thoughts, your feelings and why you are feeling as you do, working together to improve your life.

What can I help with and why choose me as your therapist?

I will list a number of areas below that I can help you with, but a list isn’t always that helpful when you’re trying to choose the best counsellor/therapist for you. What often differentiates me from others is that I am a trauma-informed therapist, meaning I have had extensive training helping individuals who have experienced traumatic events, therefore ensuring you receive the safety, high standards of knowledge, understanding, experience and help that you may need. I am of course ‘also me’ and arguably one of the most important factors is whether you feel you can connect with me and that I am the right person to support you. That’s why I offer a free initial chat (see “Let’s have a chat” further down this page), so you can get an initial feel for who I am and you can ask me whatever you need to ask to make a decision that is right for you. Do take a look at some of my issue-specific pages : And more generally (and in no particular order), here are some of the issues I am trained to work with:
  • Trauma, PTSD and C-PTSD
  • Sexual, emotional, physical, domestic abuse and assault
  • Relationship and family difficulties
  • Family estrangement
  • Menopause and Peri-menopause
  • Issues specific to members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their loved ones
  • Gender identity
  • Grief and loss
  • Life transitions
  • Identity, self esteem and confidence
  • Anxiety, stress and overwhelm
  • Depression and low mood
  • Emotional numbness or shutdown
  • Overwhelm
  • Anger
  • Burnout
  • Boundaries, people pleasing and self criticism
  • A feeling of being stuck, lost or ‘not right’
Whatever your own particular issues or worries are, they are important. I will work with you in a way that is best suited for your needs to help you discover why you are feeling this way, why you are going through the things you are experiencing, and to generally make sense of what is going on in your life. We will work together to help you cope, make necessary changes, process your feelings and to help you navigate your world.
